The 60's Project (Remedial Lessons)

Fantastic, thrilling and fun-filled project about the decade of the 60's. Using this graded Info available here, students will have a wide range of choices to share with the school everything they have learnt about the fashion, music and history of this amazing decade. 

• “I LISTEN TO YOUR IDEA PROJECT": Tell me what you and your group want to work on. 

• "WALL WORK PROJECT": Display work with the content information you have read about (fashion, music and history). You can use drawings, pictures and captions of key ideas and moments of the decade.

• "MUSIC PROJECT":You are a band from the 60’s and have just launched a new album. Choose two activities from the list to promote your band. 

1. Make an album Cover and a photoshoot of the band.
2. Invent a magazine article presenting all the band members (names, biographies) 
3. Interview the band and record it (live).
4. Record a song in English. 
5. Design a poster advertising a gig and write fan’s reviews of the previous gig on "GigAdvisor". 
   

ESO4 Imaginary Land Project

After two weeks of work and fun combined, students came up with very creative and interesting new imaginary lands with their own flag, capital city, geographical aspects and peculiar laws. I made this video to show their group work and some of their creations.

Also, we will reflect not only on people's rights in general, but also on a personal level, including duties and responsibilities. "This is Britain" is a creative, fun-filled collaborative and cooperative project that includes research, reading, speaking and much more! I am pleased to present the final products here: leporellos about each contry. Students did a brief oral presentation and were tested with flashcards about the flags, symbols and main aspects of the countries. I would like to thank my workmate Rafa Vílchez and his PMAR students for joining us in this project :D

Beatrix Potter Project: Final Products!

After working on Beatrix Potter Project, we can proudly share today our final product. We spent two sessions watching the movie and three of them working on the Webtask. Eventually, we decided to put in a mind map some remarkable facts and data about this famous writer and illustrator.

Ambassador School Programme: WE ARE IN!!!

We are very proud to inform that our school has been selected to participate in the Ambassador School Programme of the European Union. Both the Andrés, the History teacher, and myself, will become Senior Ambassadors of many Junior Ambassadors, students from both ESO (in Spanish) and Bachillerato level (in English). We will endeavor our efforts to do resarch and different activities related to the European Union in order to learn on the subject, spread the word and enjoy different and attractive prizes. You will hear from us all year long!!! 

Trip Around the World Project

ESO3B has been working on a cooperative and collaborative project related to travelling. They searched for information about a particular place and designed a poster including general facts, places to see, things to do and celebrities of the place. Finally, a cue card was written to carry out an oral presentation. Their contest-shaped oral test will take place in a week. Well done guys!

An Updated Guide to Recent Fashion (ESO3B Project)

ESO3B are about to start one more year the amazing Fashion Timeline Project! covering fashion trends from the 60's to 2010's. They will work cooperatively and collaboratively in a more than astounding way. After 5 sessions of intense reading and investigating via the Internet and a bookelt provided by the teacher, they will have to come up with a consensual display to illustrate each decade's key milestones putting a special focus on music and fahion!!!

A new Cooperative and Collaborative unit has just been started by ESO3A: THIS IS BRITAIN
We are very excited about the interesting content of this unit. We will focus on all aspects of British culture: geography, politics, monuments, food and traditions. So much more fun than grammar!!! 

On our first session blurred concepts such as Great Britain, The British Isles, The UK and England were eventually defined and learnt thanks to the first 2 minutes of this video :)

The Irregular Verbs PROJECT

My students are currently facing one of the most feared grammar aspects: Irregular verbs!

we decided to stand up for a meaningful learning of these troublesome friends. We will analyse them, classify them depending on their form and group them in colours for a better memorization.

SESSION ONE

a) Pair work: write down the different groups we are able to spot.

b) Group work: discussion to reach a consensus and stablish a given number of groups.

Our proposals were:

Vowel Change

Same form for the three verbs

Same base but different past and past participle

Different base but same past and past participle

All three forms are different.

Students try to classify all the verbs in their workbook list using the grouping suggested. We will see how effective or defective our proposals were.

SESSION TWO

a) Group work: After adjusting any deficiencies, the class will list irregular verbs into separate pieces of paper according to verb behaviour and will assign one given colour to each group.

b) Individual work: Students will highlight each verb on workbook list using the chosen colour.

EXTRA WORK

a) Each group will design a 3-dimensional flashcard to revise irregular verbs in the future.

ESO3B Students want to be introduced to the world. Upon specific request, here you are a group picture to greet you all. I must say this group is special as I have put into practice with them, for the first time in my teaching carreer, cooperative and collaborative activities. Together, we have experienced a new methodology and together, we have learnt to work in a new and very interesting way.
