Nelson Mandela vs the Apartheid, a racist policy.

During today's lesson, AS students have been led to the amazing story of Mandela's role in the history of South Africa. They have been told about his biography as a president and his key role in the fight for rights for the black comunity, ruled by a white minority.

Between Us Links

"Between Us" is the name of unit 4 in my AS level students' book. It deals with relationships with people, either romantic, friendly or family-based. Given that 14th February is round the corner, we will set on the mood by reading about and listening to two amazing love stories.
READING: BBC News article Happy Ending for love letter pair. A true story.
LISTENING: Youtube video (with subtitles in Spanish) in which we are told how old Fred Stobaugh wrote such a sensitive letter to her wife, who had just passed away, that the moving words turned into the lyrics of the song "Oh Sweet Lorraine". Green Shoe studios were looking for a good songwriter. They definitely didn't get the singer out of Fred, but made the most out of his writing. Enjoy his story.

An Updated Guide to Recent Fashion (ESO3B Project)

ESO3B are about to start one more year the amazing Fashion Timeline Project! covering fashion trends from the 60's to 2010's. They will work cooperatively and collaboratively in a more than astounding way. After 5 sessions of intense reading and investigating via the Internet and a bookelt provided by the teacher, they will have to come up with a consensual display to illustrate each decade's key milestones putting a special focus on music and fahion!!!
