The Sir John Colfox- Santa Catalina Exchange

Hello Everyone and my apologies for posting soooo late about the exchange. It has been a great 10 days experience and all the students and the teachers have fully enjoyed the activity.
There is a specific entry int he top left corner related to the exchange activities. I started with simple pictures, but I plan to include videos and other relevant issues. I hope you can have a taste of what those days have meant for all of us.
The following link is for the Spanish kids involved in the exchange. I am certain they will love the following video links because they will be able to see people they know and the school presented by students from Colfox.

( I recommend videos 1 (Jesus' and Angela's partners speaking!!!!) and 2 to have a general picture of the School - nice music by the way!)

End-of-year projects

Now that our textbook is coming to an end, we will work in three different projects to raise marks while having fun:
i. WebQuest Going to London
You will get instructions for this and work on it during teaching periods.
ii.Music project
Choose a song and translate its lyrics to understand the message.
Create a cue card including the following aspects: 1)why you chose it among the options, 2)explain the message to your classmates and 3) give your personal opinion on the subject.
Here are the singers/band links available:
  • To Zion (Lauryn Hill)
  • Crazy (Simple Plan)
  • One (U2)
  • Last Kiss (Pearl Jam)
  • My Sacrifice (Creed)
  • Beautiful (Christina Aguilera)
  • Frozen (Madonna)
  • Stole (Kelly Rowland)
  • They dance alone "Cueca solo" (Sting)
  • Where is the love? (The Black Eyed Peas)
  • On the Edge (Tokio Hotel)
  • Shame on you (Andrea Corr)
  • Innocence maintained (Jewel)
  • Spineless (Alanis Morisette)

The best way to work on the music project is that you use Google search engine to find the lyrics and listen to the songs, for this last option youtube.com is a perfect choice!.

iii. My holiday photo album
Check instructions at page 101 on the textbook.
