In this post we will study the same verb followed by an infinitive and a gerund. The two structures are grammatically correct, but yes! you are right! If there are two structures, there must be two meanings!!! Depending on what you want to say, use one or the other.
Usually the Ving choice takes us back to an action of the past, whereas the infinitve has an future or immediate nuance attached to the meaning.
