ESO3 Project: RECYCLING
Unit 2 was about recycling. We have learnt how important recycling is for present and future generations. In order to prove we are on eco-mode, our project requieres some active action from our side.
Option 1: Bring a recycled object from home that you usually use. Say what it is, what it is made of and why you use it.
Example: coconut bag. It is a bag made of coconut. I use it because it is perfect for small things such as mobile, keys or change. It is very handy to go out in summer.
Option 2: Create your own recycled object. Show the class how we can create things with our own hands and using materials we have at home.
Example one: corner bookmark (video tutorial in Spanish)
Example two: a butterfly bookmark (video tutorial in English)

Verb + Infinitive vs Verb + Gerund contrast
In this post we will study the same verb followed by an infinitive and a gerund. The two structures are grammatically correct, but yes! you are right! If there are two structures, there must be two meanings!!! Depending on what you want to say, use one or the other.
Usually the Ving choice takes us back to an action of the past, whereas the infinitve has an future or immediate nuance attached to the meaning.

Bye Bye Summer! Hello Autumn!!
domingo, 7 de julio de 2013
What to do in summer?
My recommendation is to focus on listening and speaking, while watching tv series or movies and meeting new people in your holidays destination. Summer is definitely the perfect season for that!!!
Grammar and Reading were extra worked during the school year, so now, it is time to deal with the other skills. Both, listening and speaking, can be practised on my other blog Missisabelonline Listen Watch and Talk, devoted to aural skills. Actually, it is the one I am updating at the moment :D
Watch the videos I suggest, click on the links to improve the pronunciation, do the listenings from the listed websites, use the speaking sections to improve your conversation and, basically, practice as much as you can not to leave aside all the learning done so far.

IDIOMS REFERENCE SITES
Idioms or Idiomatic expressions
Idioms are a part of the figurative language. The good thing about them is that they make a language sound very creative, and can also get others to think and figure out what the person who is using the idiom might mean. Unfortunately, they are usually complicated and hard to remember. But they are worth the hassle!!!Here you are two interesting sites about IDIOMS
